The diclofenac product is to be taken orally. To begin taking the drug, take the tablet about 1 hour before meals. The dose is then gradually increased over the course of the day. You should begin to feel the benefits within 30 minutes of taking the drug. The effect of diclofenac can last up to 4 to 6 hours. However, the effects can last up to 24 hours. Some people experience some effects, such as joint pain, skin irritation or inflammation, while others may not.
The diclofenac product can be taken with or without food. The tablets should be taken at least 30 minutes before food. To reduce the risk of stomach upset, you should avoid taking the drug with food. Do not take the diclofenac product with milk, calcium, iron, dairy products, or calcium-fortified juices.
Do not exceed the recommended dose of diclofenac and do not use this product for a longer period of time than is required for the recommended maximum dose. Store at room temperature away from heat, light, and moisture. Do not store in the bathroom. Do not use it if you are allergic to diclofenac or any other ingredients of the product. Do not use it if you have severe stomach problems, if you have an allergy to diclofenac or any other NSAID, or if you have been told by your doctor that you are more likely to have serious side effects from taking this medication. Do not use this product if you are allergic to aspirin, diclofenac, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug, ibuprofen, naproxen, or other NSAIDs.
Before taking diclofenac, be sure to tell your doctor or pharmacist if you have a stomach or intestinal ulcer or other stomach disorders. If you are allergic to any other medicines or if you are pregnant, trying for a baby or breastfeeding. Do not use diclofenac product in children under 12 years of age unless your doctor tells you to.
